Last August local comedians Ray Harrington, Derek Furtado and Doug Key, along with Corey Brailsford (co-owner of The Comedy Connection) teamed up for the 48 Hour Film Project:Providence and won Best Movie. Harrington also won Best Actor while Brailsford won Best Director. This week the movie was entered into the national competition and screened at Hollywood's famed Chinese Theater.
All four took the trip out to Los Angeles for the ceremonies. And while in Hollywood, they took in many of the attractions it has to offer, including Laguna Beach, Beverly Hills and were even in the studio audience for tapings of Tosh.0 and Conan. Unfortunately their film 'Relax' did not win any additional awards but it did receive rave reviews and a great audience response. Proving once again, Rhode Island has a lot of talent.
